Privacy Policy for Timeline: Private Microjournal
Kamal Bramwell (“Developer”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) built Timeline: Private Microjournal (“Application”) as a local-first, privacy-focused personal journal. This Service is provided at no cost and is intended for use strictly as a private, solo capture tool.
1. Zero Data Collection & Transmission
Timeline does not collect, track, transmit, or share any personal information, telemetry, usage statistics, diagnostic data, or unique device identifiers. The Application does not connect to external servers, cloud databases, or third-party tracking services.
2. Local-First Sandboxed Storage
All content created within the Application—including text notes, markdown formatting, tags, photo attachments, and audio voice recordings—is stored exclusively on your device within the application's secure, sandboxed storage directory. Your records are never synchronized to external servers or accessible to other applications installed on your device.
3. Hardware Biometric Authentication
Timeline provides an optional Biometric App Lock feature. All authentication is executed locally through platform security mechanisms (Apple LocalAuthentication for Face ID / Touch ID, and Android BiometricPrompt). The Application never accesses, collects, processes, or stores your biometric credentials or passcode data.
4. Third-Party Libraries & Permissions
The Application requests only the minimal device permissions required for user-initiated multimedia capture:

Microphone Access: Used solely to record audio voice notes at your explicit command. Audio is written directly to local sandboxed storage.

Photo Library / Camera Access: Used solely to attach photos selected by you to personal entries.
The Application contains zero third-party advertising SDKs, analytics trackers, or social sharing SDKs.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
Because all data resides strictly on your local device, you maintain complete ownership and control. You can delete individual entries or clear all data at any time by deleting entries within the app or uninstalling the Application from your device.
6. Children's Privacy
The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13, nor does it knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children or any other user.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted to this page with an updated revision date.
